Do I Need a Will or a Trust?

Dying without a Will or a Trust, called intestacy, means the laws of the State of Colorado will dictate how your property will be distributed to your heirs.  For example, your jointly owned home could go to your deceased spouse's children and NOT TO YOU even though you bought the home with your spouse!

A Will allows you to determine to whom and how your property is distributed after you pass on.

Why Do I Need the Other Documents?

  • Probate Avoidance Documents are essential.  If prepared properly, you loved ones will not need to go through Probate after your death.

  • If you are unable to make financial or healthcare decisions due to incapacity, you can give the right to someone you love and trust to make these decisions for you.

  • You can decide how your last illness is handled.

  • You can decide who can access your medical and financial records.

  • You can let family and friends know of your Memorial Wishes and burial or cremation instructions.
